The Refuge

Situated at an altitude of 2,152m and ideally located, the Bellachat refuge offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Mont Blanc massif. Over the years, thousands of hikers, both novice and experienced, have marveled at this majestic view overlooking the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley and admiring the roof of Europe.

Thanks to its position on the edge of the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve and the Carlaveyron reserve, the approach walk to the refuge allows an immersion in the alpine fauna and flora where marmots and ibexes venture fearlessly among the rhododendrons, gentians, cotton grass and other mountain flowers.

Hikers and walkers alike will be welcomed by the Bellachat team in a warm, mountain setting. Take advantage of this break to quench your thirst and enjoy a light snack overlooking Mont Blanc: rostis, omelets, soups, cold meats, cheese, salads, cakes, and quiches of the day, accompanied by your favorite beverage.

Spend a night at the refuge and share the friendliness of hikers on the GR5, the Tour du Mont-Blanc or the Tour des Aiguilles Rouges.

OPEN from June 21 to
September 28, 2025.
